These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the AutoHaul Direct website and any vehicle transportation brokerage or related services provided by AutoHaul Direct LLC, doing business as AutoHaul Direct (“AutoHaul Direct,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

AutoHaul Direct LLC is a federally authorized transportation broker registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (“FMCSA”), USDOT No. 4572370 and MC No. 1818917.

By accessing our website, requesting a quote, booking transportation, approving an order, communicating your acceptance by telephone, email, text message, electronic signature, or other electronic means, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use our website or book transportation services through AutoHaul Direct.

1. Our Role as a Transportation Broker

AutoHaul Direct is a transportation broker. We arrange vehicle transportation with independent third-party motor carriers (“Carriers”) authorized to perform transportation services.

AutoHaul Direct does not physically transport vehicles, operate the trucks or trailers used for transportation, or take physical possession of vehicles being transported.

The Carrier assigned to a shipment is an independent transportation provider and is responsible for the actual transportation of the vehicle.

AutoHaul Direct’s brokerage services generally include locating and coordinating with available Carriers, facilitating shipment arrangements, communicating transportation details, and assisting with pickup and delivery coordination.

A Carrier may have additional terms contained in its dispatch agreement, Bill of Lading, tariff, insurance policy, or other transportation documents. Those terms may apply to the Carrier’s transportation of your vehicle.

2. Eligibility and Authority to Book

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to book transportation services.

By placing an order, you represent that:

You are the legal owner of the vehicle or are authorized by the legal owner to arrange transportation.
You have authority to provide the shipment and contact information submitted to us.
The information you provide is accurate and complete.
You have authority to authorize the Carrier to operate the vehicle when reasonably necessary for loading, unloading, parking, inspection, or transportation-related purposes.

If another person will release or receive the vehicle, you authorize that person to act on your behalf with respect to pickup or delivery.

3. Quotes, Calculators and Estimated Pricing

Prices displayed through our website, quote forms, calculators, route tables, state pages, cost guides, emails, text messages, or telephone communications may be estimates unless AutoHaul Direct expressly confirms otherwise in connection with your order.

Vehicle transportation pricing may depend on factors including:

Pickup and delivery locations
Transportation distance
Vehicle year, make, model, size, weight, and condition
Whether the vehicle is operable
Open or enclosed transportation
Carrier availability
Route demand
Pickup timing and scheduling flexibility
Seasonal market conditions
Fuel and operating costs
Location accessibility
Vehicle modifications
Additional services requested

The current AutoHaul Direct website describes its pricing as market-based and based on route, timing, vehicle type, and available carrier offers.

Website pricing tools and published route prices are therefore intended to assist customers in understanding potential transportation costs. They do not independently create an obligation for a Carrier to transport a vehicle at the displayed amount.

If the transportation price changes before a Carrier is assigned, AutoHaul Direct will communicate the revised amount to you for approval before proceeding with that revised price.

You are not obligated to accept a revised transportation price unless you approve it.

4. Accuracy of Shipment Information

You are responsible for providing accurate information about your shipment, including:

Vehicle year, make, and model
Vehicle type
Vehicle dimensions where relevant
Operability
Pickup and delivery locations
Requested transportation method
Vehicle modifications
Pickup availability
Special loading or transportation requirements

You must disclose modifications or conditions that may affect loading or transportation, including oversized tires, lift kits, lowered suspension, roof racks, aftermarket accessories, extended dimensions, non-running condition, or other material modifications.

Incorrect or incomplete information may result in a revised price, transportation delay, Carrier refusal, additional Carrier charges, or cancellation of the shipment.

5. Carrier Assignment and Dispatch

AutoHaul Direct will attempt to locate an appropriate Carrier based on your route, vehicle, schedule, transportation method, and other shipment requirements.

Carrier availability is affected by market conditions and cannot always be guaranteed for a particular date or time.

A Carrier is considered assigned when AutoHaul Direct confirms that a specific Carrier has accepted the shipment and provides the applicable dispatch or Carrier information to the Customer.

Once a Carrier has been assigned, changes to the order may affect pricing, availability, or cancellation terms.

AutoHaul Direct may replace a Carrier when reasonably necessary because of Carrier cancellation, mechanical problems, scheduling conflicts, safety concerns, compliance issues, or other operational circumstances.

6. Pickup and Delivery Dates

Unless specifically stated in writing as guaranteed, pickup dates, delivery dates, transit times, and arrival times are estimates.

Transportation can be affected by circumstances including:

Weather
Traffic
Road closures
Mechanical problems
Carrier scheduling
Previous delivery delays
Government restrictions
Accidents
Safety conditions
Acts of nature
Other events reasonably outside AutoHaul Direct's control

AutoHaul Direct and the Carrier may provide estimated arrival windows as information becomes available, but transportation schedules may change.

Customers should not make non-refundable travel arrangements or other time-sensitive commitments based solely on an estimated pickup or delivery time.

7. Door-to-Door Transportation

Door-to-door service means the Carrier will attempt to pick up and deliver the vehicle as close to the requested addresses as safely and legally practical.

Large transport trucks may be unable to enter certain streets or properties because of:

Low-hanging trees or wires
Narrow streets
Weight restrictions
Residential restrictions
HOA restrictions
Steep grades
Low bridges
Unsafe road conditions
Local laws
Insufficient turning or loading space

When direct access is not safe or legally permitted, you and the Carrier may arrange a nearby safe and accessible meeting location.

This is consistent with the approach used by established auto-transport brokers such as Sherpa, whose terms likewise provide for an alternate nearby location when the requested address cannot safely accommodate the Carrier.

8. Vehicle Preparation

Before pickup, you are responsible for preparing the vehicle for transportation.

Unless otherwise approved by AutoHaul Direct and the Carrier, you should:

Remove loose and unsecured items.
Remove valuables and personal property.
Secure or remove aftermarket accessories.
Retract or remove antennas where appropriate.
Disable alarms or provide instructions for disabling them.
Ensure tires are properly inflated.
Ensure the vehicle has sufficient fluids and battery power for loading and unloading.
Keep the fuel level low, generally around one-quarter tank unless instructed otherwise.
Inform us if the vehicle is inoperable.
Provide working keys or other access required to operate the vehicle.

You are responsible for damage or additional costs resulting from undisclosed vehicle conditions or failure to reasonably prepare the vehicle.

9. Personal Property Inside the Vehicle

Vehicles are being transported as vehicles, not as household-goods shipments.

Unless AutoHaul Direct and the assigned Carrier expressly authorize personal property, you should remove all personal belongings before transportation.

If a Carrier agrees to allow limited personal belongings inside a vehicle:

The Carrier may impose weight, placement, or other restrictions.
The items must not interfere with safe vehicle transportation.
The Carrier may refuse any item at pickup.
Personal property is transported at the Customer's risk unless expressly covered by the Carrier's written insurance terms.

Prohibited items include hazardous materials, explosives, firearms or ammunition where prohibited, illegal substances, contraband, perishables, animals, cash, jewelry, irreplaceable documents, and other unlawful or unsafe property.

The major brokers reviewed similarly place restrictions on personal belongings and generally distinguish those items from the insured vehicle itself.

10. Vehicle Inspection and Bill of Lading

At pickup, you or your authorized representative should inspect the vehicle with the Carrier.

Existing damage should be accurately documented on the Carrier’s inspection report or Bill of Lading (“BOL”) before the vehicle is transported.

You should:

Review the inspection carefully.
Make sure existing damage is documented.
Take clear photographs or video of the vehicle.
Sign the BOL only after reviewing the recorded vehicle condition.
Keep a copy of the BOL.

At delivery, you or your authorized representative should inspect the vehicle again before signing the final delivery inspection.

Any new visible damage should be noted on the BOL before it is signed.
The BOL is an important transportation record. FMCSA describes a Bill of Lading as the receipt and transportation contract issued in connection with the shipment.

11. Vehicle Damage and Claims

The assigned Carrier is responsible for the physical transportation of the vehicle and for cargo liability applicable to the transportation it performs.

AutoHaul Direct is a transportation broker and does not replace the Carrier’s cargo insurer.

If you believe your vehicle was damaged during transportation:

Inspect the vehicle carefully at delivery.
Record any new visible damage on the delivery BOL before signing.
Take photographs and other supporting documentation.
Obtain a copy of the signed BOL.
Notify AutoHaul Direct promptly.
Submit the claim to the Carrier and/or its insurer within any deadline required by the Carrier's BOL, insurance policy, or applicable law.

AutoHaul Direct may assist with obtaining Carrier information and facilitating communication regarding a claim, but AutoHaul Direct does not determine insurance coverage, adjust Carrier insurance claims, or guarantee that a Carrier or insurance company will approve a claim.

Established broker agreements similarly make the delivery inspection and BOL central to documenting transportation damage.

12. Payment

You agree to pay the transportation price and any other charges approved in connection with your order.

Depending on the shipment, payment may be made to AutoHaul Direct, directly to the assigned Carrier, or divided between the two as explained during booking.

Additional charges may apply if shipment details change after booking, including changes to the vehicle, location, operability, transport type, or other material information.

13. Changes and Cancellations

If you need to change or cancel your shipment, contact AutoHaul Direct as soon as possible.

Changes to pickup or delivery locations, vehicle information, transportation method, timing, or other shipment details may affect Carrier availability or pricing.

Cancellation terms may depend on whether a Carrier has already been assigned to the shipment. Any applicable cancellation charge will be disclosed as part of the booking or order terms.

If a Carrier arrives for pickup and the vehicle cannot be transported because of inaccurate information, vehicle condition, lack of access, or Customer unavailability, additional charges may apply.

14. Communications and Electronic Consent

AutoHaul Direct may contact you regarding quotes, bookings, Carrier assignment, pickup, delivery, payments, shipment updates, or customer-support matters using the contact information you provide.

Communications may be made by telephone, email, or text message.

17. Website Information and Estimates

We make reasonable efforts to keep information on our website accurate and current.

However, vehicle transportation prices, transit times, mileage, route information, Carrier availability, pickup windows, and other transportation information may change.

Website calculators, pricing tables, route estimates, articles, and similar information are provided for informational purposes unless specifically confirmed as part of your transportation order.

18. Limitation of Liability

AutoHaul Direct acts as a transportation broker and does not physically transport vehicles.

To the extent permitted by law, AutoHaul Direct is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting from transportation delays, including rental vehicle expenses, hotel costs, missed travel arrangements, lost income, or similar expenses.

Claims involving physical loss or damage while the vehicle is in the Carrier’s possession are subject to the Carrier’s responsibility and applicable insurance coverage.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

19. Events Outside Our Control

AutoHaul Direct is not responsible for delays or service interruptions caused by circumstances reasonably outside our control, including severe weather, road closures, accidents, mechanical problems, natural disasters, government actions, port delays, or other unexpected transportation conditions.

20. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable federal law and, where state law applies, the laws of the State of Washington.

Any dispute that cannot be resolved directly between the parties will be handled in accordance with applicable law.

21. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our services, business practices, or legal requirements.

The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
